My resolution for 2013 is for passion. In the midst of life’s hustle and bustle this coming year, in the midst of life’s ups and downs, I am determined to live a life of PASSION. Passion…even when just crunching numbers at the office and doing all the administrative stuff we do…that sometimes seems mundane.
Passion…even when working around the house, because I want my wife to know I appreciate her, because I am thankful for the home we share.
Passion…when I study, because I want to learn, to apply, and to understand the message God has for me–not just gain knowledge.
Passion…when the church doors open and we gather together as the body of Christ to praise and worship our creator, our redeemer and the one who’s love has NO boundaries! I want to praise and worship God with every ounce of the passion that He felt when creating me and this world!
Passion…in living a life of worship! Recognizing that everything I do is an act of worship. When I get up at 4:30 am on Sunday to join my friends to set up the church at 6 am as an act of worship to prepare LifePoint like we are preparing for a great banquet with the King….. with Jesus! When I set up the band Equipment at Grace and Grits, load it and unload it all the way to playing music….I want to live with the passion of knowing that someone may receive hope in Christ Jesus! This is my act of worship.
Passion…when I share the love of Jesus with someone caught in the throws of addiction, homelessness or prostitution, letting them know that they are loved, that God loves them, that Jesus died for them so that they can have a new beginning, a fresh start–a new life in Christ!
Passion…when someone around me is having a bad day or a tough time, that I might look at my life and recognize, “yeah, been there, done that, and I will be there again!” My friends and family have been there for me in my time of need. I need to be here in their time of need. We need God and we need each other!
I simply want to live a life of PASSION and love out loud….because Jesus so passionately loved me that He gave His life nailed to a cross! He so passionately loves YOU that He gave His life nailed to the cross for the forgiveness of all that has been so wrong in our lives, so that WE might have a NEW LIFE–A NEW BEGINNING!
May God bless your new year with the passion of life and of a relationship with Him!
